How to upload photo's to Gallery 2

E-mail Print PDF

Here is my simple (hopefully) guide to create albums & upload photo's in to Gallery 2.

1st log in, & select the album you want to upload your photo's to. When uploading photo's you do not need to re-size them, the gallery will do it for you.

If you haven't registered go to the bottom for details on how to register.

 01-login-select-album

If an album hasn't been made for the game you took photo's for click on "Add Album"

Fill in the blanks & click on "Create" when done.

03-album-info

You should see in green "Album created successfully". You shouldn't have to change anything else, click on "Save" & you are ready to start uploading.

04-album-details

Now that you made an album click on the URL (menu) link to open your album.

05-go-to-album

You should see "This album is empty". Now click on "Add a photo". If the album has photo's click on "Add items".

 06-add-photos

The "Add Items" page will display. For uploading 1 to 5 photo's the on screen option is ok. For faster & easier uploading use one of the "drag & drop" options. I preferred the " Gallery Remote". I will cover three different options, select the one you feel works best for you.

Using the "Windows Publishing Wizard". This options adds a registry fix so you can upload photo's directly from your Windows XP file manager. Download the file & install per the on screen instructions.

Using the "Upload Applet". This is a Java base on screen up loader. Once its open, "drag & drop" your photo's from your file manger into the box on the left hand side & click on "Upload" when ready. The program will re-size the photo's for you. Once all the photo's are uploaded the box should be empty & you can check your photo's by clicking on the album's URL at the top of the page.

Using "Gallery Remote". This is my preferred way of uploading photo's, because I usually upload to several different albums in one session. The other options are for the current album you are working in. When you run "Gallery Remote" a separate window will pop up.

 10-gallery-remote

This is the "Gallery Remote" program. You should see your user name in the URL & "Toddman's Sportz Photo's" on the left hand side. If not click on the "Log in" button.

Expanded the albums on the left to see what albums you have permission to upload into. Now click on the album you wish to add photo's to. Now "Drag & drop" your photo's from your file manager into the middle window. If a photo needs rotated or re-named, click on the photo & the following options are displayed for you on the right hand side. When you are ready Click on "Upload pictures"

You should now see a window showing your progress, it should disappear when done.

When you are done you can select another album & upload more photo's. Before you "Log out" review your photo's in your browser to make sure everything is ok.

Your photo's are now up. You can review them to see if they all made it or delete the photo's you uploaded that you don't want to display. Any questions email me at This e-mail address is being protected from spambots. You need JavaScript enabled to view it or call me & I'll help you out.

A couple Hints to help you out when taking photo's:
1) Practice taking photo's before game time, including night shots. You can always shoot cars going by if no time to go to a practice. Just like the players they need to get back into the swing of things.
2) Try & keep the sun to your back. This will help with the wash out effect.
3) Take a picture of the score board showing the final score of the game, so you don't have to rack your brain trying to remember the out come later on.
4) Remember, its only bits so shoot away, you can always delete the bad ones when you get home.

Hope this helps & enjoy taking your photo's.
